Electrician
The Electrician repairs, maintains, and installs wiring, motors, transformers, generators, lighting, and other electrical systems equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations. Utilizes plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
What you will be doing as an Electrician
- Administer and execute the preventative maintenance program.
- Perform maintenance on Plant facilities and equipment as required.
- Schedule routine maintenance to ensure the most efficient flow of production with the least possible downtime.
- Work with production scheduler to schedule repairs ensuring scheduler is aware when work assignments cannot be completed as planned.
- Capable of programming controls equipment beyond level of simple troubleshooting (PLC, drives, safety PLC, weld timers, robots, etc.)
- Maintain own work area clean, tidy and a safe environment in which to work.
- Maintain maintenance logs as required.
- Capable of identifying and utilizing external resources (vendors, contractors, technical support, etc.)
- Conducts final safety approval of repaired equipment where necessary.
- Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna Employee’s Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, and the Magna Operational Principles in all aspects of position and interaction with others.
- Effective use of MDV’s Escalation Process.
- Compliance to IATF customer requirements
- Attends all scheduled meetings and training.
- Understands and follows established rules, procedures and policies relating to position.
- Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures.
What you should have as an Electrician:
- Must have Construction and Maintenance (309A) or Industrial Electrician License (442A)
- Intimate knowledge of equipment and processes within scope of job. Certified in use of all required equipment
- Sufficient familiarity with electrical code in order to design and build circuits for production machines or power distribution.
- Constantly open to new ideas, open to change and CI, capable of moving ideas into actions
- Skilled in root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques of equipment problems
- Creative problem-solving skills are essential.
- Proficient in FANUC programming
- MEDAR and Lincoln welders
- Ontario C of Q Electrician with 5 years related experience
- Able to communicate in English (both verbal and written)
- Must have Toolbox and Tools to carry out required tasks.
- All related equipment including scissor lifts
