Position Summary
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Field Technician is responsible for supporting daily construction operations by maintaining clean and safe job sites, assisting with scheduling and coordination of trades, and ensuring work progresses efficiently. This is a hands-on labour position that plays a key role in the successful completion of our homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily site clean-up and maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Ensure scheduled trades are on site as planned and report delays or issues to the Site Supervisor.
- Assist the Site Supervisor with coordinating daily construction activities.
- Contact and assist with scheduling trades as directed by the Site Supervisor.
- Complete and maintain accurate daily construction logs in Buildertrend.
- Deliver and organize materials and supplies to job sites.
- Perform general labour and minor handyman tasks as required.
- Install and maintain temporary site protection, signage, and safety equipment.
- Monitor job sites for safety concerns and report deficiencies.
- Take progress photos and provide updates to the Site Supervisor.
- Assist in preparing homes for municipal inspections, homeowner walkthroughs, and possessions.
- Complete seasonal duties including snow removal and general site maintenance.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Site Supervisor or Construction Manager.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential construction or general labour is considered an asset.
- Strong work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and performing manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and basic computer applications.
- Experience with Buildertrend is an asset but training will be provided.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to work independently while following direction.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000 per year
