Concrete Finisher

DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an experienced Concrete Finisher for Civil Construction city projects in and around the Greater Edmonton Area. DeFord is a leading contractor in Edmonton, Alberta, specializing in municipal road projects, subdivision land development, parking lots, and other key infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:
- Place, level, and finish concrete surfaces for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other structures.
- Operate hand and power tools such as trowels, floats, and screeds.
- Ensure proper surface texture, edges, and joints for a smooth and durable finish.
- Apply curing and surface treatments as necessary.
- Repair and resurface damaged or worn-out concrete structures.
- Work with concrete form setters, laborers, and other crew members to complete projects efficiently.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Assist with general site preparation and cleanup as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a concrete finisher.
- Strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques and tools.
- Gomaco finishing experience considered a valued asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License preferred; reliable transportation a must
- Ability to work efficiently with different concrete mixes and curing methods.
- Experience in municipal road projects, subdivisions, or infrastructure is an asset.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including kneeling, bending, and lifting heavy materials.
Above average pay for Cement Finishers/Form Setters with 5+ years of gutter/curb experience.
