Role Summary
The Sales & Business Development Manager is responsible for leading the organization's sales and business development function by identifying and securing new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and driving revenue growth. The role provides leadership to the sales team through coaching, performance management, and the development of effective sales strategies, systems, and processes. Working closely with the General Manager and other internal stakeholders, the incumbent supports the achievement of JPD Staffing’s strategic and operational objectives while promoting exceptional client service, representing JPD Staffing professionally, acting as an ambassador for the Company and its brand, and contributing to sustainable business growth.
The incumbent exercises independent judgment in developing sales strategies, managing client relationships, identifying business opportunities, and leading the day-to-day activities of the sales team. Decisions relating to budgets, compensation, staffing levels, pricing approvals, and significant contractual commitments are made in consultation with the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute JPD Staffing's sales and business development strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives.
- Build, mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new sales professionals as the company continues to grow.
- Create and implement scalable sales processes, playbooks, and best practices.
- Establish clear KPIs, sales targets, performance expectations, and accountability measures.
- Assist in developing and structuring the company’s future sales and commission program.
- Conduct weekly sales meetings, one-on-one coaching sessions, and pipeline reviews.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities and help shape the company's long-term vision.
Business Development
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across the construction, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, and skilled trades sectors.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations and service agreements.
- Develop strategic account plans for key clients.
- Build strong relationships with owners, executives, project managers, procurement teams, estimators, and key decision-makers.
- Conduct regular client visits and jobsite meetings to strengthen relationships, better understand client needs, and identify opportunities to grow our partnerships.
- Attend construction industry events, trade shows, networking functions, association meetings, career fairs, and client events to promote JPD Staffing and generate new business opportunities.
- Represent JPD Staffing professionally and continue strengthening our reputation throughout British Columbia.
Client Relationship Management
- Manage and grow existing client accounts by building trusted, long-term partnerships.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through proactive communication, responsiveness, and consistent follow-up.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Recruitment, and Dispatch to ensure an outstanding client experience.
- Ensure client satisfaction remains one of the company's highest priorities.
Sales Operations
- Accountability for achieving annual sales and revenue growth targets.
- Develop monthly and quarterly sales forecasts.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and pipeline reporting.
- Analyze sales performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with leadership on pricing strategies, proposals, and contract negotiations.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and overall sales performance.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on sales performance, market opportunities, and team progress.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or sales leadership.
- Previous experience in the construction industry is an asset.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring a sales team.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with the ability to travel throughout the Lower Mainland.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Professional sales or leadership training is considered an asset.

Working Conditions
- Full-time position
- Office-based in downtown Vancouver
- Frequent travel throughout the Lower Mainland for client meetings, attending job sites, networking events and industry functions
Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
