We are seeking
passionate
healthcare practitioner, to join our Instructor roaster for our
Foundations of Medicine & Healthcare courses for learners aged 13-18.
In the course, students will explore the foundations of the different medical occupations and will learn how organs and systems work together to maintain a state of balance. They will be exposed to industry-standard frameworks and theories that will help them predict how body systems respond under different conditions. Through controlled simulations, students will analyze real-world medical cases, interpret symptoms, and develop initial treatment plans.
This is an
auxiliary (substitute) instructor opportunity for Summer 2026. As part of our instructor roster, you'll be one of our trusted educators who can step in when needed to support our students.
If our lead instructor is unavailable due to planned or unexpected leave, you'll confidently deliver our curriculum and ensure students continue to receive the exceptional learning experience Circuit Stream is known for.
Foundations of Medicine & Healthcare is offered at the
University of Toronto Hart House.

If called upon, and attend 2-hour onboarding session in July plus self-directed training prior to stepping into the classroom.

Create lesson plans and lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following Circuit Stream's Foundations of Medicine & Healthcare course curriculum (curriculum and Instructor guides provided)

Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their final project, a Medical Log Book

Showcase proficiency in in making treatment recommendations based on symptoms and scenarios

Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.

Grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.

Availability to teach during the day (9:00 AM - 3:30 PM) between July and August 2026 if called upon.

Availability to attend 1–2 training days in July prior to teaching.

Previous professional experience in health and patient care in a clinical environment.

Nursing designation (RN, LPN, RPN or NP), current Medical School student working towards M.D. or Faculty member of nursing or medical programs.

Proficient at evaluating medical data and delivering recommendations for patient’s care.

Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.

Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.

A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
