Diversified Staffing Services is looking for a Business Analyst for one of our clients located in downtown Edmonton. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and have excellent attention to detail.
This position is critical to ongoing day-to-day operational support of business area and applications that ensure core functions of the business are running smoothly with no impact to external clients or internal business areas.
Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent will plan and coordinate deliverables from analysis through to implementation. The incumbent is responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements, validating design specifications and ensuring all standards are met. You will research and support resolution of business process and policy issues.
Work summary
- Engage program areas to understand current-state business processes and supporting systems.
- Facilitate workshops/interviews; document process flows, pain points, and opportunities.
- Co-develop the future-state solution with business areas.
- Produce clear requirements for forthcoming digital infrastructure (e.g., user stories/use cases, functional/non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria).
- Support validation, prioritization, and traceability of requirements with stakeholders.
Required skills / qualifications
- Senior BA capability: requirements elicitation/analysis, process mapping, solution co-design, and stakeholder management.
- Experience with current-to-future state transformation, business rules, and information/data requirements.
- Business process mapping (e.g., BPMN/Visio), gap analysis, and current-to-future state translation.
- Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments (public sector experience is an asset).
- Agile delivery experience (user stories, backlogs, refinement, acceptance criteria).
- Strong writing and facilitation; able to work independently and drive work to closure.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant education and/or work experience.
- Tools: Jira/Confluence (or equivalent), MS Office.
- Digital service modernization experience (portals, workflow, integrations/APIs, data/records considerations).
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with motor vehicle/traffic safety regulatory programs and operational service delivery.
