Position Overview
As a Canine Coach, you will be responsible for supervising group play, guiding positive behaviour, and ensuring the overall well-being of every dog in our care. This is a hands-on role that blends canine behaviour management, structured play leadership, and facility care.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage group play sessions with dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and energy levels
- Monitor canine body language and intervene appropriately to promote safe, positive interactions
- Support and reinforce balanced behaviour using calm, consistent handling techniques
- Assist with behaviour redirection and help dogs integrate successfully into group settings
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment through regular cleaning and disinfecting
- Provide attentive care, including feeding, hydration, and general wellness checks
- Communicate observations regarding behaviour, health, and temperament to management
- Uphold The Modern Dog’s standards for safety, structure, and premium care
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience working with dogs (daycare, boarding, training, veterinary, or similar) strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of canine behaviour, body language, and group dynamics is an asset
- Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Physically capable of standing, walking, and active movement throughout the shift
- Reliable, attentive, and able to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills

Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
