Position Overview
You will act as ambassador of the marina. The main seasonal duties include Spring Launch, Fall Haul-outs, block and trailer boats. Other duties include assisting with shrink wrapping/removal, power-washing & acid washes, assisting the maintenance team when required and other ad hoc projects.
Essential Job Functions
· Preserve a safe work environment by removing hazardous material throughout the marina
· Haul out and launch boats using heavy equipment (travel lift, hydraulic trailers, forklifts, tractors)
· Block and trailer boats
· Train and advise employees in the crew, as required
· Shrink wrap boats as required
· Provide pump out services
· Drive and tow boats
Soft Skills/Other
· Provide exceptional friendly and professional customer service to all marina patrons by interacting with them in a personable manner to guarantee a pleasant and safe stay
· Watch for and alert people of dangerous situations
· Follow, understand, and practice all Hindson Marina policies and procedures (i.e., workplace health and safety, environmental, vacation, time off, etc.)
Job Requirements:
- Must have 3 years’ experience in the marine or similar industry
· Must be available to work flexible hours Monday to Friday and potential weekends
· Experience in the marine industry is an asset including working knowledge of boats and marine systems
· Must have a valid Travel Lift Certification or willing to obtain
· A or AZ license is an asset
· Possession of a valid G license and clean driver’s abstract
· Must have experience with operating skid steer and other heavy equipment
· Must have a valid Pleasure Craft Operators card
· Must have a valid Forklift Certification
· Valid First Aid Certification as an asset
- Must possess superior customer service skills
- Must work well as a team and individually in a professional manor.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy
· Ability to swim and tread water for two minutes is an asset
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· CSA approved Safety Shoes
Working Conditions
· Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50lbs without assistance
· Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, reach, and pull for extended periods
· Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling
· Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Exposure to loud engine/equipment noise
- Exposure to fuel odors and hazardous substances

Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
