Position Summary
The Bar Manager is responsible for the daily execution of the Calcutta Cricket Club bar program, ensuring every beverage served reflects our standards for quality, consistency, hospitality, and profitability. This role includes managing shifts as well as bartending shifts.
This role leads the bar team through coaching, training, organization, and accountability while maintaining beverage costs, inventory, ordering, and overall bar operations. The Bar Manager works closely with the General manager and Sr. Floor Manager to continually elevate the guest experience and support the financial success of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
Bar Operations
Lead the day-to-day execution of the bar program by ensuring:
- Consistent cocktail execution and presentation.
- Bartenders follow all recipes and service standards.
- Efficient ticket times and bar flow.
- A clean, organized, and guest-ready bar at all times.
- Exceptional hospitality from every bartender.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop the bar team through:
- Daily coaching and feedback.
- Training of all bartenders.
- Product knowledge and cocktail education.
- Accountability to service standards.
- Scheduling prep responsibilities.
- Supporting a positive and collaborative team culture.
Inventory & Ordering
Responsible for all beverage inventory including:
- Weekly inventory counts.
- Accurate invoice entry.
- Weekly ordering.
- Maintaining inventory pars.
- Monitoring liquor cost and variances.
- First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory rotation.
- Organization of all bar storage areas.
Partner with the General Manager to review beverage cost performance and develop action plans when required.
Bar Program Management
Support the success of the Calcutta Cricket Club beverage program by:
- Maintaining recipe accuracy.
- Ensuring all recipe books and bar manuals remain current.
- Rolling out seasonal cocktails and menu changes, ensuring they are inline with our theme
- Training staff on new products and features.
- Monitoring product quality and freshness.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized bar by ensuring:
- Daily opening and closing cleaning duties are completed.
- Weekly deep cleaning schedules are followed.
- Equipment is maintained and operating properly.
- Refrigeration and storage areas remain organized.
- Repairs are communicated promptly.
Service Leadership
Support the overall success of the restaurant by:
- Assisting with floor leadership during service.
- Communicating effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Maintaining a calm, organized bar during peak periods.
- Supporting takeout and beverage quality.
- Helping create memorable guest experiences.
Financial Responsibilities
The Bar Manager is accountable for:
- Beverage cost performance.
- Weekly inventory accuracy.
- Product ordering.
- Waste reduction.
- Beverage profitability.
- Labour awareness within the bar.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and inventory management abilities.
- Passion for hospitality and continuous improvement.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
