Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This role involves operating various types of heavy machinery to support construction, logistics, and material handling projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a focus on safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. Prior experience with forklift operation, freight handling, and automotive repair is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects while developing your expertise in heavy equipment operation.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and forklifts to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functioning and safety compliance
- Assist with site preparation, grading, and material movement as needed for construction or logistical projects
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate operations and meet project deadlines
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Must be willing to work out of town on rotation
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, or similar machinery
- Certification or experience with forklift operation is preferred
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and logistics operations
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is desirable
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads, operate machinery for extended periods, and work in outdoor environments under varying conditions
Pay: $21.97-$40.28 per hour
