About the Role:
We are a growing general contracting company specializing in small to mid-sized commercial renovations and interior buildouts, with a strong focus on medical clinics, dental offices, pharmacies and other healthcare spaces.We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Construction Site Supervisor / Project Coordinator who can help manage multiple active projects, coordinate trades, track schedules and ensure work is completed properly and on time .The ideal candidate understands how smaller general contractors operate and is comfortable taking ownership of projects from day-to-day site coordination through to completion. This role requires someone who can manage subcontractors, review drawings, solve site issues and also assist with hands-on work when needed to keep projects moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site activities across multiple commercial renovation projects
- Coordinate, schedule and manage subcontractors and trades
- Review construction drawings, floor plans, specifications and site details
- Track project schedules, progress, deficiencies and outstanding work
- Identify potential delays and help develop practical recovery plans
- Ensure trades are completing work in the correct sequence
- Confirm required materials, equipment and deliveries are available when needed
- Provide regular project updates, site photos and progress reports
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, landlords and building representatives
- Assist with inspections and closeout requirements
- Maintain clean, safe and organized job sites
- Complete light construction, labour, installations, deliveries and minor repairs when required
- Help trades or complete small tasks when necessary to prevent delays
- Complete site measurements, takeoffs and material checks
- Review completed work and prepare deficiency lists
- Ensure tools, equipment and materials are properly managed
- Travel regularly between job sites across the GTA and surrounding regions
Ideal Candidate
- Has experience with a small or mid-sized general contractor
- Has managed commercial renovation and construction sites
- Understands construction sequencing and trade coordination
- Can confidently read and interpret construction drawings
- Is organized, dependable and able to manage several projects at once
- Is proactive and identifies issues before they become major delays
- Is comfortable communicating with trades, clients, consultants and suppliers
- Is willing to perform hands-on work when required
- Can work independently without constant supervision
- Has strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Takes ownership of project schedules, quality and site conditions
Healthcare Construction Experience would be considered a major asset.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant commercial construction experience
- Previous experience as a site supervisor, working foreman, project coordinator, assistant superintendent or similar position
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and construction schedules
- Ability to read architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and clean driving record
- Reliable transportation (pickup truck or work vehicle preferred)
- Company vehicle may be available depending on the employment arrangement
- Ability to travel between Oshawa, Toronto, Niagara and surrounding areas
- Comfortable using email, text messaging, shared schedules and basic project-tracking software
- Ability to complete physical construction work when required
Compensation
- Approximately $50,000-$60,000 annually, based on experience
- Performance-based bonuses
- Potential use of a company vehicle
