Job Title: Product Specialist / Product Sales Management
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Specialist with experience supporting major retail accounts such as Costco and/or other high-volume retailers to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting the full product lifecycle—from development and sourcing to market analysis and vendor optimization. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and passionate about bringing competitive products to market.
Key Primary Responsibilities
Product Development & Strategy
- Support product development initiatives from concept through launch
- Conduct competitive shopping and market analysis to benchmark products
- Research and identify new product opportunities and innovations
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
Product Execution
- Manage product samples,
- Assist with product presentations
- Perform net cost calculations
Vendor Management
- Strengthen relationships with existing vendors and maximize current product lines
- Collaborate with suppliers on product improvements and cost efficiencies
Secondary Responsibilities
Operational & Support Functions
- Track programs, timelines,
- Prepare quotes
- Support QA audits
- Maintain accurate product data
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in product development, sourcing, or a similar role
- Knowledge of the Costco Wholesale sales process
- Strong knowledge navigating item agreements, pallet renderings, loading diagrams, QA product testing, Audits,
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience with sourcing strategies
- Experience preparing line reviews or retail buyer presentations
- Knowledge of market research and trend analysis tools
- Familiarity with QA processes and product compliance
