Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting 48' trailers within a designated local area while ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving practices, as well as the ability to operate heavy equipment and manage freight effectively. Hourly rate + HST.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport 48' trailers to various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on vehicles as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid AZ license.
- 5 years minimum AZ experience preferred
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Must have excellent backing experience.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair is advantageous for maintaining vehicle functionality.
