The Opportunity
Reporting to the VP/SVP, Accounting, the Director, Accounting will play a critical leadership role within Fitzrovia’s growing Income Producing Properties (“IPP”) platform. This is a high-visibility mandate focused on overseeing the accounting operations of a rapidly expanding real estate portfolio while helping modernize processes, elevate team capability, and support the continued institutionalization of the business.
As the firm continues to scale its operating asset base and deepen relationships with institutional capital partners, the accounting function is evolving from a traditional property accounting environment into a more sophisticated, process-driven and technology-enabled platform. The successful candidate will bring both operational rigor and forward-thinking process leadership, ensuring the function remains scalable, efficient, and highly reliable.
This role oversees a team responsible for quarterly and annual reporting, property accounting operations, and pension partner reporting across Fitzrovia’s operating portfolio. Beyond technical accounting oversight, the Director will act as a key people leader, helping recruit, mentor, and develop accounting talent while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee quarterly and annual accounting operations and reporting for Fitzrovia’s income-producing property portfolio.
- Oversee the accurate preparation of financial statements for the IPP side of the business.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for institutional and pension plan partners.
- Lead, mentor, and develop property accounting managers and accountants across the platform.
- Support recruiting efforts and help build a scalable accounting organization as the business continues to grow.
- Drive process improvement initiatives across the accounting function, including workflow optimization, automation, and technology enhancement.
- Identify opportunities to modernize traditional accounting processes using emerging technologies, data tools, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Maintain strong internal controls, reporting accuracy, and operational discipline across all accounting activities.
- Partner cross-functionally with development, operations, asset management, and finance teams to support business objectives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Help create a sustainable and efficient work environment that balances high performance with team well-being.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Partner with the Asset Management and Property Management team(s) on the budgeting and reforecasting processes across the portfolio.
- Provide insights on financial performance, cash flow, and variances to senior leadership.
- Support capital planning, financing initiatives, and lender reporting requirements.
- Partner with asset management and property management teams on financial analysis and decision support.

Key Qualifications
Technical Skills and Experience
- 8–12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within real estate, REITs, or institutional property environments.
- Strong experience overseeing property accounting and quarterly and annual close processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing accounting teams.
- Exposure to process improvement, systems enhancement, automation, or technology transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of controls, reporting rigor, and operational accounting disciplines.
- Experience within high-growth or entrepreneurial environments is highly attractive.
Education / Certification
- CPA designation required.

Compensation & Investment
To attract a top-tier executive, Fitzrovia’s package is structured to reward high-impact performance:
- Earning Potential: A competitive base salary plus performance-based bonuses aligned with the achievement of key strategic objectives.
- Direct Alignment: This role includes the potential to participate in the company’s success on favorable terms, directly aligning financial success with the firm’s growth and deal performance.
Compensation for this role is expected to include a base salary of $150,000–$180,000, plus an annual bonus opportunity. Final compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and alignment with the requirements of the role.
