The Opportunity
Métis Crossing seeks aspiring culinary professionals for the position of Guest Experience Associate (Culinary - Server). The successful applicants will play an integral role in supporting the culinary vision at Métis Crossing including the preparation and serving of indigenous cuisine and supporting special events. Working with the head chef and the front-of-house team, Culinary Team Members will bring concepts such as “Forest & Farm to Table” to life. While your primary responsibilities will align with those of Culinary, you will be required to assist with other duties as needed to support the organization's operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve guests with professionalism and a focus on providing an excellent experience.
- Set up events and arrange tables according to the required layout.
- Clean tables and seating areas promptly and efficiently.
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately.
- Perform other front-of-house duties as needed.
- Assist in food and beverage preparation; if over the age of 18, serve alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain and clean workstations, including wiping down and sanitizing food preparation areas.
- Operate and maintain the dishwasher in a clean and functional condition.
- Perform general cleaning duties, including taking out the trash, sweeping, mopping, and organizing the dishwashing area.
- Use and wear equipment and clothing as required by Métis Crossing and in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
- Adhere to Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) regulations at all times.
- Plant and harvest fruits and vegetables in the vertical indoor garden as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of food service operations and requirements.
- Previous experience as a kitchen helper, server, or in a similar role.
- Certification in WHMIS and basic First Aid.
- Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling procedures.
- Familiarity with Alberta history and cultural diversity.
- Knowledge of Alberta Métis culture and traditions.
Other Requirements
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to work on-site at Métis Crossing in Smoky Lake.
- Clear Criminal Record Check required.
Employment Details:
