Under supervision, assist the Greenhouse department in ensuring effective production of quality products in an efficient and productive manner.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planting of crops.
- Harvesting of crops.
- Crop maintenance (disbudding, pinching, cultivate, irrigate, fertilize and spray)
- Quality of inspection of products.
- Ensure proper movement of product and supplies in the facility (assigned area).
- Prepare and pack product for shipment.
- Move/space/sort product as required.
- Break down trucks, stock product neatly and carefully into the Greenhouse/Warehouse department coolers.
- Bring product out to the "floor" to keep production moving steady.
- Work/move product in the various areas.
- Wrap product and load boxes onto skids/racks to prepare for shipment.
- Assist in all areas of production as needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Follow direction given from Supervisors/Lead Hands
- Abide by company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
Working Conditions:
- Work is normally performed in the Greenhouse department.
- Work can be performed indoors or outdoors and required. Field work when needed.
- High physical effort is required (bending, twisting, lifting, walking, and sitting).
- Constant change in temperature.
- Heavy lifting may be required - up to 60 pounds.
- Full workweek with extended hours when needed.
- Weekends and holidays required when necessary to meet business/customer requirements.
