Overview
We are looking for a friendly and reliable local candidate to join our retail team at Woodgrove Centre in Nanaimo. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Representative to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers, demonstrating products, and driving sales growth across various retail environments. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to effectively promote our products through engaging demonstrations and upselling techniques. Multilingual abilities and experience in technology or retail sales are highly valued to better serve diverse customer needs.
Duties
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products or services
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits effectively
- Assist customers with product selection, ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Perform merchandising duties to ensure attractive product displays
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
- Upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain organized product displays and ensure inventory is well-stocked
- Provide excellent customer service through friendly communication, phone etiquette, and timely assistance
- Handle customer inquiries efficiently, providing detailed information about products and promotions
- Assist in maintaining store cleanliness and organization to enhance the shopping environment
Requirements
- Must currently live in the Nanaimo area
- Previous textile, apparel, fashion, or retail experience preferred
- Passion or strong interest in textile and fashion products
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Able to work flexible retail hours
- Proven experience in retail sales, merchandising, or technical sales preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in English; bilingual skills are a plus
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling, and basic math for transactions
- Ability to demonstrate products confidently and conduct product demos with technical proficiency
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing inventory and displays
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette
- Ability to upsell products tactfully while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Multilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse clientele effectively
