We are looking for experienced heavy equipment field technician for our 2026 gold mining season in the Yukon. Starting pay is CAD40 an hour and goes up via experience and having your own rig
Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy-duty equipment and trucks.
- Perform engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake work, and hydraulic system servicing.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Perform basic welding and fabrication when necessary for equipment repairs.
- Maintain accurate logs or records as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean driver's abstract.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in heavy machinery.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment efficiently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Valid driver’s license with air brake endorsement. (asset)
- Fabrication welder (asset)
Mining work site will be located outside of Dawson City, Yukon. Housing and food provided on site (no additional charge). Season starts April to October.Initial travel out to the camp will be paid for by the company. Employees who do not stay for the full season will be required to reimburse this amount upon leaving. Additional travel back and forth (not work related) will be at employee’s expense.
