Commercial Locksmith, Access Control & Door Technician
A-Plus Lock & Door Ltd. is looking for a motivated, reliable, and skilled Commercial Locksmith & Access Control Technician to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone who learns quickly, takes pride in their work, communicates professionally with customers, and can work independently. The ideal candidate has experience with commercial locksmith services, access control systems, and commercial door hardware.
This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills, strong customer service, and the ability to identify opportunities to recommend additional services that genuinely benefit our customers.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and service commercial locks and door hardware
- Install and troubleshoot access control systems
- Install electric strikes, maglocks, card readers, keypads, and automatic door operators
- Install and repair panic bars, exit devices, and door closers
- Repair and adjust aluminum storefront doors and commercial doors
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic security issues
- Complete service calls professionally and efficiently
- Maintain accurate work orders and communicate with dispatch
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of locksmith or commercial door experience
- Experience with access control systems is a strong asset
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Fast learner with the ability to adapt to new products and technologies
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Professional appearance and outstanding customer service
- Punctual, dependable, and highly responsive
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and explain repair options
- Sales and upselling skills are required – ability to identify additional repairs or upgrades that provide value to customers
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid G driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
