Overview
We are seeking dedicated farm workers to join our agricultural team. This role involves hands-on work in crop cultivation, maintenance, and operation of farm machinery. Candidates will gain valuable experience in horticulture and farm operations while contributing to the efficient running of our farm. The position offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, supporting sustainable farming practices and crop production.
Duties
- Assist with planting, watering, and harvesting crops using appropriate tools and techniques
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance on irrigation systems, pumps, and other farm infrastructure
- Use hand tools and power tools for various tasks including pruning, repairing fences, and equipment upkeep
- Conduct basic repairs and troubleshooting on mechanical systems as needed
- Assist with heavy lifting of supplies, produce, or equipment to support daily operations
- Monitor crop health and report any issues related to pests or plant diseases
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining farm machinery
- Experience with irrigation systems and water management techniques
- Knowledge of horticulture principles for crop care and plant health management
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely, including tractors or loaders if required
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance tasks
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Ability to operate farm machinery confidently and efficiently
- Strong attention to safety standards to prevent accidents during operation of equipment
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about agriculture, eager to learn about modern farming practices, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Prior experience with farm machinery or horticulture is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed.
Pay: $17.37-$20.86 per hour
