About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing residential renovation and custom home projects from pre-construction through final completion. You will coordinate trades, schedules, budgets, quality control, and client communication while ensuring every project reflects OakWood's high standards.
You will work closely with our Design, Estimating, Purchasing, and Production teams to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with exceptional customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple residential renovation and custom home projects simultaneously
- Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and internal departments
- Monitor project budgets and financial performance
- Manage project documentation, purchase orders, and change orders
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality, safety, and progress
- Lead client meetings and maintain proactive communication throughout construction
- Identify and resolve project challenges before they impact schedule or budget
- Ensure projects comply with Ontario Building Code and health & safety requirements
- Complete project closeout, deficiencies, and warranty coordination
- Foster positive relationships with clients, trade partners, and team members
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of residential construction project management experience
- Experience managing renovations, additions, and/or custom homes
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and sequencing
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience reading architectural and construction drawings
- Strong budgeting and cost control skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction management software
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP designation (considered an asset)
- Experience in a Design & Build environment
- Knowledge of Tarion Warranty requirements
- Experience with construction scheduling software
