Position Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable, safety-focused Pro Shop Specialist with a primary expertise in firearms, ammunition, and hunting gear. In this specialized role, you will be the trusted advisor for our outdoor community, helping customers select the right equipment for their needs while upholding the highest legal and safety standards. Core Responsibilities
- Expert Customer Advice: Assist customers in selecting firearms, ammunition, optics, and hunting accessories by explaining technical specifications, features, and safe handling procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all federal, provincial, and company regulations regarding the secure handling, logbook tracking, display, and sale of firearms and ammunition.
- Licensing Verification: Meticulously verify customer documentation (including valid PAL checks) and accurately process transaction paperwork and firearm tracking software entries.
- Safety Enforcement: Maintain a secure and controlled counter environment; actively model and enforce safe firearm handling practices with customers at all times.
- Merchandising & Inventory: Keep the Pro Shop clean, highly organized, and securely locked where required. Assist with stocking, inventory auditing ("hole checks"), and setting up seasonal displays.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Licensing: Must possess a valid Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) (Restricted and Non-Restricted preferred).
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older to legally handle and sell ammunition/firearms.
- Product Expertise: Deep practical knowledge of firearms, ammunition types, hunting gear, and related outdoor equipment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A strong understanding of Canadian firearm laws, hunting regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Professionalism: Ability to remain calm, authoritative, and strictly professional when managing high-regulated inventory and customer interactions.
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
