About Us:
The Latin American Scholarship Foundation (LASF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students of Latin American heritage in achieving their educational goals. Through scholarships, community engagement, and events, we aim to empower future leaders and create lasting impact.
Position Overview:
You will play a pivotal role in strengthening our admissions and scholarship onboarding process while building strong connections with students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the development of a records management system to maintain accurate and secure files for student applicants.
- Supporting the onboarding process for new scholarship applicants, ensuring they receive the guidance and information needed to complete their applications successfully.
- Coordinating meet-and-greet sessions with students and parents to create a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Following up with students throughout the application process to ensure they stay engaged, informed, and encouraged.
- Identifying areas for improvement within the scholarship application process and suggesting solutions to streamline and enhance the experience for future applicants.
- Helping to create a student engagement plan, aiming to retain scholarship recipients and applicants, family and friends as part of the broader LASF community.
- Encouraging feedback and actively contributing ideas and initiatives that support the continuous improvement of LASF’s programs and operations.
- Collaborating closely with the Scholarship Admissions team and participating in the organization and preparation of the August Scholarship Award Event, one of LASF’s most important annual celebrations.
Requirements:
- Strong budgeting and problem solving skills
- Interested in nonprofit operations.
- Looking to gain experience in the field
- Must be available to attend IN PERSON and support the organization’s events on: July 10 (Students' interviews) , July 11 (Students interviews), July 12 (Students interviews) & August 22, 2026 (Annual LASF event).
- Ability to communicate in Spanish & English
- Preferably resides in the GTA
