Under the direction of the Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef, the Cook prepares flavorful and creative dishes while adhering to quality and food safety standards. This individual contributes to delivering a memorable dining experience in a friendly and professional environment.
- Prepare ingredients according to established standards and requirements.
- Cook food items using proper techniques and recipes with accuracy and consistency.
- Plate dishes according to the establishment's presentation standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area at all times.
- Strictly follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with team members.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of work-related information.
- Protect company assets and equipment.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Professional or college-level training in hospitality, tourism, culinary arts, or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- MAPAQ Food Hygiene and Sanitation Certification (an asset).
- Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, mornings, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to remain standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 15 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in French and functional English.
