RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead programs for children and youth both onsite and occasionally off-site; assist in creating activities.
- Assist in preparing activities and materials for lessons, programs and camps.
- Collaborating with team members to create, plan, promote, and supervise events; i.e. programs, private lessons, drop-ins, summer day camps, and birthday parties.
- Delivering exceptional customer service.
- Ensuring the safe and efficient use of program materials and equipment.
- Maintaining a clean, orderly and safe workspace.
- Ensuring continuous and careful supervision of children and youth attending programs/activities.
- Other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must meet all eligibility requirements as outlined by the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
- High School Diploma
- Comfortable with public speaking (speaking in front of a group)
- Leadership and/or teaching skills
- Enjoys working with children and youth
- Able to work effectively in a team or independently
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Eager to learn and embrace new challenges
- Proficient in English written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in bicycle riding and handling is an asset
- Flexible with scheduling
- First Aid Certification is an asset
- Possesses strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Able to complete background checks, including a vulnerable sector check and a Child and Youth Intervention Check.
- Willing to follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.
