Role and Responsibilities
To assist the shipyard service operations by contributing to the productivity of the service team. Working under the management team, looking for a skilled and detail-oriented paint and fiberglass technician. Contribute to completing the jobs on time, working to the best of their ability, and using time and equipment effectively. The goal is a high quality product under efficient timelines.
- Perform repairs on fiberglass surfaces, including sanding, grinding, filling, and gel coat application
- Mix and apply paint to all vessel surfaces by brush, roller, and/or spray
- Match and blend paint colours for an exceptional finish
- Inspect and review work for quality and accuracy
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Maintain all tools and equipment
- Follow all safety and environmental procedures
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals
- Assist on other projects/jobs as required within the yard
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum high school diploma
Preferred Skills
2+ years experience in paint application and fiberglass repair
Knowledge of materials including resin, epoxy, and gel coats
Ability to use air tools, sprayers, and grinders
Ability to perform under pressure
Efficient time management
Ability to adhere to deadlines and time constraints
Knowledge of marine service and operations
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $37,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
