Office & Warehouse Operations Assistant
Wild Bird Trading Co. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual who enjoys a variety of responsibilities in both an office and warehouse environment. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, accurate, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently while still providing friendly, professional service to customers and co-workers. The successful candidate will divide their time between administrative duties and warehouse operations, helping ensure our business runs efficiently from order entry through shipping.
Office responsibilities include maintaining files and records, answering telephone calls, preparing customer invoices, processing supplier invoices, basic bookkeeping, preparing shipping documentation, resolving shipping and vendor issues, scheduling appointments, maintaining attendance records, supporting workplace health and safety initiatives, assisting retail customers, operating standard office equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized office. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism is essential.
Warehouse responsibilities include picking and packing customer orders, checking inventory and backorders, preparing shipments, selecting appropriate packaging, processing freight shipments, labeling and recording products, inspecting orders for accuracy, loading and sealing packages, assisting customers with purchases, receiving inventory, restocking shelves, and assisting with light product assembly and seed manufacturing. The position requires periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, computer proficiency, efficient typing skills, experience with Microsoft Office, and familiarity with accounting software and standard office procedures. A bachelor's degree or equivalent education is preferred, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Previous office experience is considered an asset.
We are looking for someone who is naturally introverted, thoughtful, diplomatic, and highly accurate. The ideal candidate enjoys focused, independent work, takes pride in staying organized, notices details others may overlook, willingly assists teammates when needed, and is flexible enough to work in both the office and warehouse depending on daily requirements. Applicants should also be comfortable working in an office environment with friendly rescue dogs.
