Innovative Stonecraft Inc. is a growing Saskatoon-based manufacturer of architectural stone veneer products. We supply builders, masons, dealers, and distributors across Western Canada.
We are looking for a practical, hands-on Manufacturing Coordinator to help manage daily production coordination, quality, documentation, process improvement, and production reporting.
Position Summary
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly on the production floor while also being comfortable with planning, documentation, data tracking, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will work closely with management, supervisors, maintenance, lead hands, and production staff to support production planning, monitor daily output, improve workflow, maintain quality standards, and help build scalable systems as the company grows.
This is not a purely office-based role. The right person will be hands-on, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily production, unmoulding, packaging, and order priorities.
- Support production planning based on customer orders, inventory levels, staffing, and capacity.
- Track production output, labour hours, downtime, quality issues, breakage, rework, and process bottlenecks.
- Work with supervisors and lead hands to improve workflow, labour efficiency, material flow, and shift handoffs.
- Monitor product quality during production, unmoulding, packaging, and finished-goods staging.
- Help develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, checklists, quality standards, and training documents.
- Support inventory tracking for raw materials, molds, packaging supplies, and finished goods.
- Assist with scheduling and coordination between production, packaging, maintenance, and shipping.
- Help implement quality-control procedures, batch records, traceability, and production reporting.
- Support equipment/process trials, mold improvements, production testing, and new product/process improvements.
- Identify recurring issues and assist with continuous improvement projects.
- Support preparation for the company’s facility expansion and future production line improvements.
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular production and operations reports to management.
- Promote a safe, clean, organized, and productive work environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering technology, industrial engineering technology, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent hands-on manufacturing, production coordination, or process improvement experience will also be considered.
- Experience in manufacturing, quality control, production planning, process improvement, or industrial operations is an asset.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working on the production floor and communicating with production staff.
- Good computer skills, especially Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to create and maintain reports, checklists, SOPs, and production records.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality systems, or production data tracking is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience with equipment, molds, batching, conveyors, or automated production systems is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks.
- Ability to work in a growing business where systems are still being built and improved.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is practical, organized, and hands-on. They can bridge the gap between the office and the production floor. They are comfortable working with people, tracking data, solving problems, improving systems, and helping turn daily production activity into measurable results.
