Role: Facilitator, Skills Development - Prince Albert

- have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

In this role, you’ll be part of a team supporting youth programs and community partnerships in Prince Albert and area. We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, reliable, and excited to learn.
Program & Community Work• Support activities with youth groups, schools, and community organizations
- Work with team members to help run short-term community projects over the summer
- Help deliver programming alongside facilitators
- Create prevention and upstream resources
- Connect to projects related to employment, tech design, social polarisation and global goals through “Take Our Kids to Work”, “Hearing Unheard Moments”, “Digital Defenders”,“Storm & De-norm”, “Sustainable Development Goals” and “Digital Resistance Project”
Events• Help plan and run events, including weekly programming, cultural and recreational activities and focus groups
- Support young people to participate, lead, and feel included in activities
Research & Learning Opportunities• Learn how to support basic research and evaluation projects
- Help gather feedback and stories from youth participants
- Attend weekly virtual professional development meetings
- Work with a team (including academic partners) on projects that may be shared online, at events, or in publications
Communication & Creative Tasks• Learn how to turn information and feedback into content
- Help create materials, content and resources for different audiences, including youth and community partners
- Build positive relationships with people of different ages & backgrounds
- Work on community recommendations to integrate youth voice into decision making structures
Team Participation• Join team meetings (both in-person and virtual)
- Work directly with youth during in-person sessions at Prince Albert and Area,
- Build positive relationships with people of different ages and backgrounds
- Complete timesheets and basic admin tasks on time
- Track your schedule and time off using our system
- Participate in regular check-ins and reflect on your learning and growth
The Art of Work
All new hires at the Students Commission of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs program in 2026 will be integrated into our Art of Work program, which includes:
- being invited to participate in a research study to share your story of youth employment.
- participating in weekly professional development workshops/training.
- gaining access to a national network of youth ages 15-30 who are employed in varying contexts across the country.
The SCC is a project-based organization and receives new funding to support SCC’s program areas through projects. As per SCC’s employee agreements, the SCC may re-assign to other duties based on the successful adoption of new projects.
