James Auto Group is a well-established and growing automotive dealership group, recognized for its commitment to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and long-term success. We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team at Stratford Nissan.
The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers requiring vehicle service and maintenance, ensuring an exceptional customer experience while coordinating effectively with the service and parts departments. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Responsibilities:
- Scheduling service appointments
- Opening work orders and clearly and accurately documenting customer concerns and vehicle needs
- Recommending and explaining required automotive maintenance and repair services to customers
- Securing customer authorization prior to repairs, including outlining cost estimates and expected completion times
- Communicating effectively with Service Technicians regarding diagnostic findings and repair requirements
- Keeping customers informed throughout the repair process and advising of any additional recommended work
- Explaining warranty coverage and factory-recommended maintenance schedules
- Staying current on technical and performance information for all vehicle models serviced by the dealership
- Promoting vehicle maintenance and educating customers on proper vehicle care and long-term value
- Handling customer inquiries and resolving concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership environment
- Post-secondary diploma or equivalent related experience preferred
- Basic automotive product and repair knowledge
- Ability to explain technical information in a clear and customer-friendly manner
- Strong computer skills; experience with dealership management systems (DMS) is considered an asset
- Excellent communication, listening, and customer service skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and attention-to-detail abilities
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Adaptable and quick to learn new dealership software systems if needed
