JOB POSTING FOR A SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
RESIDENTIAL HOME BUILDER
Valecraft Homes (2019) Limited is searching for experienced candidates for the position of senior Architectural Technologist to join our team. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications.
Responsibilities for Senior Technologist:
- Obtaining permits; Assembling/overseeing the assembly of blocks, siting, and gathering of reports/letters/studies required by the city to receive a building permit. Follow up with the city and revisions.
- Drafting designs for construction projects; This position requires an active BCIN#. Drafting of new models, revisions to existing models, coordinating with structural engineer on design. Preparation of sales brochure, site plans, schedules for releases, custom drawings for special requests, drafting for Land Development.
- Customer changes; Drafting all changes related to structure and all other pertinent information on the plans for customer upgraded homes. Review and commenting on Agreement of Purchase and Sales in regards to structural components. Coordinating with sales with questions and comments.
- Estimating / PO; Estimate supplies & review all take-offs, preparing PO’s for non-contract work.
- Inspect and review; extensive working knowledge & compliance with the Ontario Building Codes/Safety Codes. Assist & support Site and Sales Department
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma in Architectural Technology or Building Technology.
- Active BCIN#
- Several years of hands-on experience designing and preparing permit drawings for houses under the Ontario Building Code.
- 3-5 years of experience designing and preparing permit drawings for residential houses and buildings in Ontario
- Knowledge and experience with design techniques, tools, and the principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and building assemblies
- Knowledge and experience with materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of homes.
- knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Experience with applicable office software programs and software, AutoCAD is mandatory.
