Heavy Duty Mechanic Wanted
Axis Vac is seeking a safety- driven, reliable candidate to join our staff and help grow our successful business as we meet the needs of our customers. We are currently seeking a heavy-duty mechanic to maintain our fleet of hydrovacs, directional drills and other equipment. Some of the work may consist of working in the service truck and on the road.
Requirements
- Candidate will perform a range of heavy-duty maintenance duty to units in fleet. This will be done in a safe and timely manner to ensure fleet is in good working condition.
- Performs work following proper work standards as laid out by Axis Vac Shop Foreman or management
- Following standard safety protocols troubleshoot and repair issues
- Performing quality repairs & preventative maintenance services on hydrovacs, directional drills and other equipment in fleet
- Help to maintain safe and operational hydrovac units and drills
- Ensures all regular maintenance is up to date on trucks and equipment
- Completes maintenance reports and ensures units are scheduled for regular maintenance
- Sends trucks for repairs if cannot be done in house
- Service truck and road work will be a part of duties
- Able to work evenings and weekends is a requirement
- Familiarity with hydrovacs and drills an asset, but not required
- Must possess and exhibit a strong safety insight
- Problem solving and time management are strong assets we are looking for in qualified candidates
- Hydraulics, wiring, minor fabrication work all contributing assets.
- Looking for a 3/4th year apprentice or someone with relevant experience

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- Heavy Duty/Ag Mechanic : 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
