We are currently seeking candidates who are qualified for the role of Welding Technologist. Regular travel within North America, including the Golden Horseshoe, is required and is expected to account for at least 50% of the role. Travel may be required with as little as 48 hours’ notice. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. when based at our Dundas, Ontario manufacturing facility.
Base salary: $57,000 - $62,000 / year (Plus applicable travel premiums)

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Follow work orders, manuals, and procedures accurately
- Prepare and set up weld test coupons according to applicable welding procedures and standards for performance qualification and procedure qualification tests
- Calibrate welding machines and tools to ensure accurate voltage, amperage, and wire feed settings in accordance with WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications)
- Perform manual and automatic welding operations on metal components
- Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, or undercuts
- Comply with CSA, ASME, NB, or other safety and quality standards
- Weld materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, or cast iron
- Developing weld programs in order to provide our customers with turn-key welding solutions
- Lead and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), validating system performance, compliance with specifications, and customer satisfaction prior to project handover
- Address technical inquiries, conduct live demos, and provide expert guidance during both in-house (factory) and on-site evaluations

- Communicated project requirements, material availability, and welding-related concerns accurately to ensure smooth workflow and minimize delays
- Ability to prepare detailed technical reports, weld documentation, and maintenance logs to support project transparency and quality assurance
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team, managing tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
- Solid customer service skills with a drive to get the job done
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to demonstrate creative solutions, innovative ideas, and out of the box thinking
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and high demands
Key Experience/Education:
- College level education required
- Technician or Technologist Welding Diploma required
- 1-2 years’ previous experience in the welding industry preferred (co-op experience accepted)
- Knowledge in metallurgy an asset
- Knowledge of welding safety standard an asset
- Hands-on welding process and practices an asset
- Knowledge in Automatic welding an asset
- Knowledge of the following welding processes an asset: PTAW, LASER, GTAW, GMAW
