Little Lightbulbs offers play-based preschool programs for 3 - 5 year-olds in Spruce Grove, Alberta. Our goal is to provide exceptional early learning experiences for the children in our care. We proudly offer certified educators with proven experience in providing developmentally appropriate education for young children. We are looking for a friendly and professional Preschool Assistant to join our team! The successful candidate would have experience working with young children in a play-based educational setting. They would be comfortable supporting children as they learn and grow in an inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with teaching and childcare duties under direction of Preschool Teacher
- Collaborating with Preschool Teacher to plan and prepare learning activities
- Assist with parent communication under direction of Preschool Teacher
- Daily cleaning of facility outside of class hours
- Some administrative tasks may be assigned under direction of Preschool Teacher
Qualifications:
- Level 2 Early Childhood Educator Certificate or willingness to enrol in Level 2 program
- Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search upon commencing employment
- Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset
Contract Length:
- September 2026 - June 2027 with possibility of extension
- Follows school-year calendar aligned with local school divisions, including holidays and breaks during the year
Hours of Work:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
- Hours could change subject to student enrolment
Remuneration:
- Hourly pay for this position is $16 - $18 per hour based on skills and experience
- Government-provided wage top-up to be paid in addition to your regular hourly wage for eligible childcare hours
- Government-provided funding for professional development
- Government-provided release time funding for professional development
