Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Delivery Driver & Field Support team member to join our team in Ottawa and the surrounding area. This role will be responsible for the pickup and delivery of materials, tools, and supplies in support of our rebar installation teams and active job sites throughout the region.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting field operations by ensuring materials are delivered accurately and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism. This role involves frequent travel between suppliers, warehouses, and construction sites using a company half-ton vehicle.
This position is ideal for a dependable and motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment and can manage multiple responsibilities throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Field Support Operations
- Pick up and deliver steel, rebar accessories and miscellaneous materials between suppliers and job sites
- Support field crews by transporting materials and responding to site requests throughout the day
- Coordinate with Site Foremen and Field Supervisors regarding material and supply requirements
- Purchase and transport smaller supplies and materials from vendors as needed
- Assist with setup, organization, and cleanup of materials and equipment at active job sites
- Manage and transport tools and equipment between projects as required
Vehicle & Safety Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company half-ton vehicle in accordance with company policies and safe driving practices
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance, including fueling and fluid checks
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work environment
- Follow all company and job site safety procedures and requirements
- Work in various indoor and outdoor environments and weather conditions
Qualifications
- Valid G-Class Driver’s License
- Clear Driver’s Abstract required
- Experience driving a half-ton vehicle (Ford F-150 or similar)
- Strong knowledge of safe driving practices
- Ability to read maps and plan efficient routes
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills
- Ability to follow written instructions and documented procedures
- Construction experience considered an asset
- Forklift Operator License considered an asset
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and support multiple job sites as needed
