Inspire the Next Generation of Scientists! Join FLCA as a Senior School Science Teacher
FLCA is seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time High School Science Teacher to join our team. This position will teach Grade 10–12 Biology, Chemistry, and Physics within a dynamic and student-centered learning environment.
We are looking for an educator who can engage students in scientific inquiry, connect learning to real-world applications, and foster curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, innovative, and committed to supporting student success across diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Grade 10–12 Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based science instruction aligned with curriculum outcomes
- Foster scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world application of scientific concepts
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that supports student learning
- Assess, evaluate, and report on student progress in a timely and meaningful way
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Incorporate Entrepreneurship and Global Studies connections into science learning where appropriate
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary and school-wide initiatives
- Maintain strong classroom management and student engagement strategies
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and school administration
Are You Our Next Science Teacher? Here's What We're Looking For:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education
- 5+ year of experience teaching science
- Must possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or Authority to Teach in Alberta.
- A recent (within the past 3 months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector is required.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
