La Presserie, a plant-based food and beverage company in the GTA is looking for a QA Supervisor to join our team!
WORK SPECIFICATIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- QA Team Leader
- Participation in development of new and existing products through product realization
- Performing quality checks on samples through testing of such as brix, pH, % solids, Bostwick and sensory analysis
- Creating, revising, and reviewing documentation of Food Safety and Quality Management System
- Conducts trend analysis of non-conformities, corrective actions, and customer complaints
- Continuous improvement of the Food safety and Quality Management System including QA procedures and monitoring activities
- Supplier and raw material approvals according to the Supplier Approval Program including data entry into the Supplier Approval software
- Development and maintenance of raw material and finished product specifications
- Supports and all internal and external audit activities
- Backup for QA Manager and QA Technicians during absences
- Full transparency and accountability of all results
- Participation in HACCP and Recall team
- Collaborate with Senior Management including QA, Production, R&D, Procurement, and Sales
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience and understanding of the food/beverage manufacturing environment
- Attention to detail
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and promote a team-orientated atmosphere
- Able to work flexible hours and or shift work as required
- Always work in a safe manner and be able to work around moving equipment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 5 years working experience at minimum including 2+ years in a lead hand or supervisory role.
- A diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
- HACCP and SQF certification required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills (i.e. oral and written)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The employee is required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb, reach overhead and bend to the floor in refrigerated and sometimes frozen temperatures
- Exert 10 -50 pounds of force and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently
- Tolerate noise levels from machinery
- Conduct in a safe manner around physical hazards and moving machines
- Hot, cold and wet conditions
