We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Coding, Math, and Science Instructors to inspire and educate children in a dynamic learning environment. This role involves designing engaging lessons that foster a love for technology and mathematics, helping young learners develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong background in coding, math, science, and experience working with children. University experience is a plus, demonstrating a solid academic foundation and commitment to education. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver interactive lessons in coding, mathematics, sciences tailored for children of various age groups
- Create engaging activities that promote hands-on learning and critical thinking
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to encourage growth
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels
- Maintain a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum content and teaching strategies
- Ensure all lessons adhere to safety guidelines and promote an inclusive atmosphere for all students
- Be able to teach at most 8 students at the same grade level in a class (Math & Sciences) and 6 students with different projects (Coding)
- BC teaching certification is a great asset
- Prefer school teachers and working professionals, but some university/ college students are welcome
Skills
- Strong knowledge of coding languages (such as Scratch, Python, or JavaScript, plus more) and mathematical concepts suitable for kids
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or extracurricular setting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms
- Creative problem-solving abilities to develop engaging lesson plans
- Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for teaching young learners
- University experience or background in education, computer science, or related fields is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative environment
Schedule specifically hiring:
- Tuesday (4:00pm - 7:45pm)
- Wednesday (4:00pm - 7:45pm)
- Thursday (4:00pm-7:45pm)
- Friday (4:00pm-7:45pm)
- Saturday (10:00am-5:00pm)
- Sunday (2:00pm-5:00pm)
Can be available for some or all schedule
You will be responsible for the same students for the whole school year and have the opportunity to manage your own classroom. Teaching material will be provided and your main job is to focus on providing the best education to your students.
