We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and proactive Rental Advisor to join our team for the upcoming season. If you love bikes, people, and the outdoors, this could be the perfect fit!
About the Role
As a Rental Advisor, you’ll be the face of Cycle City — welcoming guests, setting them up with the perfect ride, and ensuring every customer leaves with a smile and a safe, well-fitted bicycle. You’ll also help keep the shop running smoothly by maintaining an organized and professional environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Rentals
- Welcome customers to the shop and guide them through the rental process.
- Explain rental options, complete contracts, and process payments using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Fit customers to appropriate bikes, and accessories, ensuring safety and comfort
- Explain safe riding practices and best methods for locking and securing bikes.
- Provide clear route directions and local cycling tips to enhance the customer experience.
Shop Operations & Maintenance
- Keep the rental and retail space clean, tidy, and well-organized.
- Safely retrieve and store bicycles using proper lifting and storage techniques.
- Restock and maintain shop displays to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Assist with general cleaning, organization, and supporting coworkers during busy periods.
- Use downtime effectively by preparing bikes for tours, assisting with returns, or helping in the retail area.
Teamwork & Support
- Work collaboratively with fellow staff to ensure a seamless rental process.
- Communicate effectively to maintain smooth operations during busy times.
- Take initiative to identify and complete tasks that support the team and improve efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.Friendly, energetic, and positive attitude — especially under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift and move bikes safely (35lbs min. overhead)Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.Basic knowledge of bikes and cycling is an asset (training provided).
- Experience with POS systems (Lightspeed) and online booking platforms (Fareharbor) is an advantage.
