Job Title: Finance Advisor

Our client is seeking a Finance Advisor to support complex accounting analysis, financial reporting, month-end processes, and accounting research activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
What's the Job?
- Perform complex accounting analysis and accounting research to support the finance team.
- Prepare reporting schedules for quarterly and annual external financial filings as well as management reporting.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Identify, investigate, and help resolve accounting issues while ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with reviewing contracts and assessing accounting implications prior to execution.
- Prepare accounting memos and communicate complex accounting matters to management.
- Maintain, update, and document internal control policies and procedures.
- Support SOX compliance initiatives and ensure adherence to key and non-key controls.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors regarding controls and compliance requirements.
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies and strengthen controls.
- Provide support for special projects and ad hoc financial requests.
What's Needed?
- University degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation with 4+ years of directly related accounting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Experience with SOX controls, financial reporting, and accounting research.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle, SAP, and Hyperion Smartview.
- Public practice accounting experience.
- Technical accounting and accounting research experience.
- External financial reporting experience.
