Overview
The Food Services Department is responsible for ensuring our guests have a pleasurable experience by meeting their needs in a professional and courteous manner, and by providing excellent customer service in accordance with British Columbia Wildlife Park’s policies, procedures, strategic plans, vision, mission and positioning statements. Along with typical food services duties, a food services clerk is also responsible for performing basic janitorial duties. The Food Services Clerk reports to and takes direction from the Food Services Co Ordinator, and must be able to work as a team with other staff members to ensure BC Wildlife Park operations run smoothly. This position is responsible for delivering a high standard of Guest Services to the British Columbia Wildlife Park, and supports all other areas of the Park to ensure the BC Wildlife Park meets the high standards of a Provincial scale tourist attraction and conservation facility.
Responsibilities
- Assists in preparing and cooking meals or individual dishes based on orders
- Assists in maintenance of kitchen operations
- Assists in maintaining inventories, recording food stock, supplies and equipment
- Assists in inspections of food service areas to ensure safety standards and regulations are met
- Works with specialized cooking equipment ie: deep fryer, grills, food finishers etc.
- Assists with catered meals and banquet services
- Creates a positive relationship with guests
- Evaluates the needs of guests and adapts services to meet those needs
- Provides customer service in an accurate, timely and courteous manner
- Performs transactions using the POS system accurately and efficiently
- Provide guests with accurate information on the Park
- Perform general janitorial duties ie: cleaning, sweeping
- Performing other related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of Criminal Record check
- Previous experience in food service industry an asset
- Must be available weekdays, weekends, statutory holidays as required
- Valid drivers license an asset
- Food Safe certificate is a requirement
- Cash Management an asset
- Customer Service experience an asset
