Perlin Bal Figol LLP is a boutique law firm located in downtown Toronto seeking a real estate associate to join our growing team. We provide legal services to individuals and businesses, including developers, lenders, and private clients. We add value to our clients’ businesses by using a holistic and practical approach to legal services tailored to their specific needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience handling a broad range of real estate matters, including purchases, sales, enforcement matters, refinancing, and mortgage transactions, and will be capable of managing files from inception through to closing. Responsibilities will include conducting title and off-title searches, reviewing and drafting agreements and closing documents, coordinating closings, and corresponding with clients, lenders, and opposing counsel.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and an enthusiasm for contributing to the firm’s growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, independence, and initiative, and will become an integrated member of a collaborative and fast-paced team.
Candidates can expect a high-pressure and busy environment given the nature and volume of files. The successful candidate will be expected to consistently deliver high-quality work product, be accountable to the team, and take a solutions-focused (not problem-driven) approach to addressing issues that arise on files. Strong teamwork, reliability, and a willingness to take and implement feedback are essential. The firm is committed to supporting professional development and growth.
Please note that candidates are required to be present in the office. Working from home is not permitted for this role.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Law (LLB or JD) from an accredited law school (Canada or US preferred);
- 1-3 years of relevant real estate experience;
- Experience managing real estate files, including purchases, sales, and financings;
- In good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
