Kingfisher Bioanalytics (KBA) is a bioanalytical laboratory. Together with Kingfisher International Inc, a preclinical veterinary contract research lab, KBA carries out regulatory, exploratory and efficacy research studies for the veterinary pharmaceutical industry.
Job Description
This position is responsible for the extraction and processing of study samples in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations, facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and applicable regulatory guidelines such as OECD, FDA, and VICH. This role encompasses activities related to research and development, method pre-validation, full method validation, and the analysis of study samples within regulated bioanalytical studies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for and assisting in the development, validation, and application of bioanalytical methods for the analysis of drugs in biological specimens.
- Conduct analytical preclinical and clinical studies in accordance with the Study Plan, Sample Analysis Plan, amendments, SOPs, GLP regulations, and current industry best practices.
- Conduct technical assays using various extraction techniques (e.g., protein precipitate extraction, solid phase extraction) and LC-MS/MS to quantify molecules of interest.
- Handle and perform analysis of biological samples in accordance with established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Interpret, analyze, document, and report results for analytical projects, including method validation and sample analysis.
- Collaborate effectively within a team to troubleshoot issues, analyze and interpret data, and communicate findings clearly.
- Provide training and guidance to junior analysts and sub-contractors to ensure adherence to protocols and quality standards.
- Assist in the routine maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment and workspaces to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient working environment
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including performing routine calibrations to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Assist in the preparation and review of study plan and sample analysis plan deviations and amendments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control systems and tools, including conducting regular process reviews to ensure consistent adherence to QC standards.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of GLP and GCP regulations and guidance relevant to KBA activities
- Participate in internal assessments and quality assurance audits as required to support compliance and continuous improvement.
- Continuously develop technical skills and actively engage in professional growth opportunities.
Other:
- Provide support to Kingfisher International Inc. as needed to assist with project or operational requirements.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
- BSc in Chemistry or related field.
- Experience with method development and validation.
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
- Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) knowledge or experience an asset
Working Conditions:
- - Job Types: Full-time, permanent placement
- - Full time, 5 days a week
- - General working hours 8:00am – 4:00pm (Mon-Fri), occasional weekend work and overtime will be required on an as needed per study basis.
- - Position requires some flexibility in shifts due to study requirements
Compensation Package:
- $50,000 - $65,000 per year annual salary commensurate with experience
