Rehabilitation Assistant:
The full time Rehabilitation Assistant supports residents in maintaining and improving mobility, strength, independence, and overall quality of life while working closely with the interdisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation programs
- Support safe mobility, transfers, and walking programs
- Encourage resident independence and participation in daily activities
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with nurses and other members of the care team
- Follow Infection Prevention and Control practices and workplace safety standards
Qualifications:
- Rehabilitation Assistant diploma or related health care education
- Experience working with older adults is considered an asset
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Activity Worker:
The full time Activity Worker plays an important role in enhancing residents' quality of life through engaging recreational, social, and wellness programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead individual and group recreation programs
- Coordinate outings, special events, and seasonal activities
- Lead exercise and wellness programs
- Assist residents with participation in activities and mealtime support as required
- Maintain activity documentation and resident records
- Coordinate volunteers and Resident Council meetings
- Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional well being
- Follow Infection Prevention and Control practices and workplace safety standards
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation or a related field
- Experience working with seniors is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ward Clerk:
The casual Ward Clerk provides administrative support to the nursing team while ensuring the efficient flow of communication between staff, residents, families, and other health care professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clerical duties for the Nursing Department
- Answer telephones and relay messages
- Welcome and direct visitors
- Maintain resident records and medical charts
- Transcribe physician orders
- Schedule appointments, tests, and treatments
- Support the day to day administrative functions of the nursing unit
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information
Qualifications:
- Medical Support Services Diploma, including Health Unit Coordinator and Medical Clerk components
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong computer, typing, data entry, and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
