We are currently seeking one (1) Feedlot Operator to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in working with cattle and gaining hands-on experience in the feedlot industry.
Position Overview
The Feedlot Operator assists with the daily operations of the feedlot, including cattle care, feeding, pen maintenance, and general facility upkeep. The successful candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily care and feeding of cattle.
- Monitor cattle behavior and report concerns to supervisors.
- Support cattle processing, shipping, and receiving activities.
- Maintain pens, water systems, and feed bunks.
- Operate feedlot equipment safely after training is provided.
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties around the feedlot.
- Follow all safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity procedures.
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and team members.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous feedlot, ranch, farm, or livestock experience is considered an asset.
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Position requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and other physical tasks throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to dust, noise, machinery, and livestock environments.
