Central Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Pet Groomer who is capable of working with dogs and cats of all breeds and ages. We are a full service animal hospital with an established clientele that provides grooming services, including grooming with sedation as needed.
Job Duties:
- Performing full-service grooming for dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including bathing, drying, brushing, deshedding, dematting, clipping, scissoring, nail trims, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression.
- Assessing the pet's coat and skin condition and identifying and communicating any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Gently and securely handling pets to ensure their comfort, safety, and well-being during grooming procedures.
- Effectively communicating with pet owners about grooming needs and preferences, special instructions, and health concerns.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and work areas.
- Providing excellent customer service by addressing client questions and feedback professionally.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years experience or equivalent education in pet grooming.
- Experience handling and grooming cats and dogs of all breeds and ages, as well as pets who have health challenges.
- Proficiency in grooming all breeds, including breed-specific cuts, trims, and creative styling.
- A positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
- Capable of maintaining attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger animals.
- Organized and good time management skills.
