Job Summary
In this role(s), you will be the backbone of our pastry production, responsible for mixing, handling, and precisely laminating dough using commercial sheeters. If you take pride in producing perfectly consistent, golden-brown crusts and love a focused, early-morning kitchen environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Dough Lamination & Sheeting: Expertly set up, operate, adjust, and clean commercial dough sheeters to ensure perfectly uniform, multi-layered pastry dough.
- Mixing & Preparation: Scale, portion, and mix raw ingredients accurately according to established proprietary recipes starting at 6:00 AM.
- Production Support: Monitor proofing times, control oven temperatures, and bake batches to absolute perfection.
- Sanitation & Safety: Maintain an immaculate workstation, washing equipment and adhering to all Toronto Public Health safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience working as a commercial baker or dough maker. Direct hands-on experience with industrial dough sheeters and mixers is required.
- Language Asset: Fluency in French or Haitian Creole is a strong asset to seamlessly collaborate with our kitchen team.
- Stamina & Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long shifts, perform repetitive kneading/shaping work, and safely lift flour bags/bakery ingredients (up to 50 lbs).
- Reliability: A strong work ethic, absolute punctuality for 6:00 AM shifts, and a positive team attitude.
