Sunnybrook Apartments, located at 50 Michener Road, Chatham, ON, is known for being professionally maintained, well-managed and operated to the highest standards of excellence. The building has also recently undergone some significant upgrades, including new bedroom windows and patio doors in all units, new elevators, new laundry equipment, new security cameras, freshly paved parking lot, new roof and new privacy fencing, with more exciting improvements on the way!
We are seeking a Building Manager who is knowledgeable, reliable, detail-oriented and eager to help make Sunnybrook Apartments the home residents want it to be. Living on-site as part of the tenant community and working closely with the Property Manager and on-site Cleaning and Maintenance Person, you will serve as a key resource for building residents and management.
Primary responsibilities of the role include preparing available units for renting, conducting viewings and receiving rental applications from prospective tenants, completing required documentation to begin the lease term, liaising regularly with the Property Manager about building operations, overseeing the on-site Cleaning and Maintenance Person, collecting incoming rent payments, overseeing the tenant move-in/move-out process, managing third party contractors, ensuring timely completion of required inspections and scheduled maintenance, and addressing tenant questions and concerns.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a building manager/property superintendent in a multi-unit setting an asset (Note: Training under the current building Building Manager will be offered)
Solid working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act
Up-to-date understanding of cleaning/maintenance needs in a multi-unit building
Proficient with computers and basic office software applications
Proactive, reliable, dependable, professional
Ability to take and give direction
Excellent time management and administrative skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
Work Location: In person
Required Availability: Daily until assigned duties are completed to the required standard. Nights, weekends, holidays, as necessary. On-call availability in cases of emergency
