Summary
The Solution Planner
Job Duties
- Assume complete responsibility for assigned customer orders from booking through final delivery.
- Develop transportation solutions that meet client service expectations while maximizing profitability.
- Negotiate rates, capacity, and service agreements with carrier partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing carriers while sourcing new carrier partners.
- Coordinate shipment tracking by ensuring all loads are accurately entered, updated, and maintained in TruckMate (TMS).
- Monitor data accuracy and ensure shipment records comply with company standards.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, shipment exceptions, and opportunities for improved performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve operational discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Resolve carrier and customer service issues, conduct root cause investigations, and escalate complex issues when required.
- Prepare operational reports, KPI dashboards, and performance metrics for clients and management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process enhancements that improve efficiency, service quality, and data integrity.
- Assist with carrier onboarding, Proof of Delivery (POD) retrieval, and related administrative requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications
- University or college degree or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role with a non-asset based 3PL
Key Competencies
- Proven experienced in Canadian and Cross border FTL, LTL, Flatbed markets
- Able to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment and think outside the box
- Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail
- Solid experience in Truck Mate and Load Link
- Excellent relationships with carriers
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to handle fast-paced work environment with a “can do” attitude
- Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively

Physical Demands

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
