Position Summary:
Are you a parts person that thrives on getting the right part, at the right time and at the right price to satisfy your internal and external customers? Working for the Canadian leader in material handling as a Parts Correspondent you would need to be highly responsive by accomidating a large volume of requests from our field technicians, our service shop, sales representative, and external customers. You would use your mechanical parts knowledge to source and secure parts to service our customer base in Western Canada to keep their equipment running.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Parts Technition directly impacts inventory availability, parts flow to the shop and customers for the repair of equipment. Purchasing parts at competitive prices directly impact our margins and profits and providing parts in a timely and efficient manner directly impacts our customers productivity.
- Ensure the accurate parts inventory within the warehouse.
- Monitoring the efficiency of shipping and receiving.
- Ensure that parts are organized on time, and that inventory is optimal for use in the shop and by Road Service Technicians.
- Manage all incoming parts calls, e-mails, and faxes on time.
- Research parts numbers for technician’s shop work orders and customers.
- Handle all technical inquiries from factories.
- Manage the entire administrative portion of tasks such as entering orders, managing warranty documents, preparing quotes and purchase orders.
- Ensure correct parts pricing and communicate changes
- Manage the full process of the back-ordered system including, obtain delivery dates on items, update the system with backorder dates and inform technicians of back-ordered items from vendors.
- Complete weekly and monthly billings and replenishments of consignment inventories
- Code all invoices as per purchases made by department ensuring receipt of items and accuracy
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area and warehouse
- Perform annual parts inventory.
- Additional task related to the position from time to time
What You’ll Bring to the Table
- Minimum 3 years of related parts experience – highly preferable within the aggregate and material processing industries.
- Secondary education in the Parts Field is required
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel; strong computer and communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through
- Must have the ability to work independently, be self-motivated and proactive
- Excellent communication and a well-defined sense of diplomacy, including conflict resolution skills.
- Excel at building and maintaining long-term relationships with key business partners
